I haven't updated here in a long time... mostly because my life went to hell. I won't go into details, but I moved - I now live in Flagstaff AZ. And went through a lot of other stuff. Anyway, I'm updating now and also have some news:

First of all Legends of the Dark Crystal has been out for a few months. I did the background painting/toning. So check it out!

A series of pewter fairy coins I designed will be available soon.

I'm in the process of designing some velvet shawls.

I'm also working on a new art book, as well as pitching stories for other projects, details coming later. :)

Okay, so I haven't been active on DA much at all in almost a year. This past year has been a lot of ups and downs for me. Coming out of the broom closet a year and a half ago was a pretty big deal for me... and there have been many other changes in my life... AND I took on a major manga related job so I've been crazy busy!

So here's what's up with this summer:

I WILL be at Anime Expo, but I won't have a table in the alley. This only makes me a little sad as I'll miss drawing with people. Oh well. I WILL have my costumes I've made for the Labryinth Ball on at expo... so check them out.

I WILL be at the Labryinth Ball both nights. I'll be dressed as a queen of thorns on Friday, and as a woodland Nymph on Saturday. I worked hard on my mask for the Nymph costume, and got huge anime-ish elf ears... so make sure to check out my costumes (I'll also be wearing them at expo).

I WILL also be at comic con, wandering around. They are promoting the book I've been working so hard toning... which is Legends of the Dark Crystal. It's really really cool, and I'm not just saying that because I'm working my ass off on tones... I'm saying that because the art is just so cool. :)

Then I'm be back in AZ again house-sitting for my parents in August.

So find me somewhere. :) Also, I will have a lull in work for a few weeks here and there, so if you've been waiting to comission me... please e-mail me about it and I'll tell you how long it'll take. :)

Positive or Negitive

So messing around with a better looking journal here... totally tired from my Bellydance class.

I noticed recently that when I hear people talking in coffee shops (and let's face it... the tables are too close to each other at most of them and you can't help but overhear some stuff) most people are really negitive. You hear them complainging about our president... about their hair or shoes... about types of music... and types of people...

Not that I'm saying anyone should be upbeat all the time... that'd be annoying. And I do hear a few people who talk about things they enjoy... but hearing so many negitive conversations has made me realize... that aside from a bad day once in awhile... I talk mostly about positive things. I mean, yeah I know it's fun to rant people... but it's really draining on your spirit. While talking about things you enjoy, or spending time enjoying them is very... well... it charges me right up.

Sure, there's some bad stuff in the world. Sure we are hurting the planet, having wars, needing better school systems. But we also have huge trees, sunshine, interesting culture, good food, magic etc. I wish I'd hear at least a few more positive conversations... ya know?

Merry Mabon

or depending happy... Fall, Autumn Equinox , Alban Elfed, and Winter Finding! Blessings to all of you for this coming fall!

Want to do a little magic yourself for the change of seasons? Try the following:

Simple Fall Celebration for anyone who doesn't have a lot of time:
Go somewhere outdoors peaceful. Pick up a leaf (a nice colorful one if you can) and spin it clockwise by the stem seven times. For each time think of one thing you are thankful for that happened this past season (summer) and one thing you are hoping will go well this fall. Cast the leaf into running water if you can (like a river) or place it somewhere respectful (like at the base of a tree etc.).

(This is taken from a number of sources of magic and folk magic).

(And NO, you do not have to also be a pagan do to this, anyone can try folk magic if they should desire to do so).

I know, I know. I've been bad about keeping up on DA. The family stuff in AZ wore me out and I've been working super hard ever since.

I did kind of catch up here with my friending, comments etc. (sorry I couldn't answer everyone... I had 500 messages!). I promise to be better about it now! Really!

I also posted one new painting, I have a lot more I'll try and post soon.

Also, one thing that is in the works is a calendar. While it's a project for a client he has given me permission to publish/sell it myself also. It's turning out really cool so I can't wait until I can tell you all the theme etc!

Hope all my watchers/friends are doing well.

If you met me at Expo or Comic Con or elsewhere please don't be afraid to remind me and be friendly! I get lonely sitting here drawing and working all the time!
